Our family was fortunate to have met coach Alex at SMART Performance in July 2021, following our son Willem's tryouts for Football Alberta.  Since that time, we have had all three of our boys become part of the Smart Performance family.  Coach Alex is not only an exceptional coach, but he is also a remarkable human that my boys look up to and to whom they owe much of their success, on and off the field. 

Smart Performance training is synonymous with Excellence and focuses not only on sound fundamentals but also on developing well rounded athletes that are prepared to compete at the next level. Coach Alex's approach to mentorship and recruitment comes from a genuine care and concern for athletes who want to be their best. Although it sounds obvious when looking for something for your kids to be a part of, it is simply not that easy to find. Coach Alex has the right balance of holding athletes accountable while creating a supportive and uplifting environment that instills confidence, humility and maturity. 

Coach Alex has become a friend and an extended member of our family.  He has been a mentor, a fan, a coach, a cheerleader and an advocate for our boys mental & physical health, academics and athletic potential.  We are grateful to be a part of the SMART Performance family and for Coach Alex's influence in the developmental years, as we have witness our boys transform into strong, confident young men.
